◆Reducing On-Site Burden of Key Management FiberGate Inc. (hereinafter referred to as FiberGate) announced on January 16, 2023, that it has jointly developed a key management system with Nishimatsu Construction Co., Ltd. aimed at improving the efficiency of on-site operations. The system, developed for construction sites of multi-family residential buildings, sends key opening and closing information from smart locks on the entrance doors of each unit to an IoT platform via a Wi-Fi router, which is then linked to a cloud-based centralized management service for IoT devices. On-site technicians can check the key opening and closing information through a dedicated application, eliminating issues such as forgetting to lock the keys. ◆Also Contributing to Enhanced Security By implementing this system, on-site technicians will be able to remotely operate the opening and closing of keys. They can perform key operations for specific units, operate keys by floor, and even simultaneously unlock or lock all units. As a result, the need for borrowing and lending keys among on-site workers will be eliminated, and the visualization of key opening and closing information will enhance on-site security. FiberGate will conduct the implementation and verification of this system at its construction sites and consider expanding it across the industry.

This system is scheduled to be unveiled at Yuasa Trading's Kanto Logistics Center after May 2024. ◆A utility model system that simultaneously controls two types of robots In logistics facilities, securing storage space due to increased logistics volume and diversification has become a challenge, and there is a demand for labor-saving and efficiency improvements in receiving and picking operations. However, implementing automation requires line assembly and effort, making installation in narrow spaces difficult. The "Twin Pick" is the first domestic system to simultaneously control two types of robots: a "high-shelf container automatic transport robot" and a "low-shelf automatic transport robot," and it has obtained a utility model. By introducing the "high-shelf robot," storage efficiency is greatly improved, and by transferring products from the "high-shelf robot" to the "low-shelf robot," large-scale line assembly is no longer necessary.
